FAQs

Pellets

c

Are B&B pellets safe to use on any pellet grill?

Category: Pellets

Not all pellets are created equal.  B&B pellets will burn hotter, longer, with less ash and more authentic wood flavor.   They will not crumble and clog your auger system and damage your grill.  B&B pellets are safe to use on any pellet grill.

c

Are the B&B Pellets 100% wood flavored or are they Oak with a little flavor of other wood?

Category: Pellets

B&B Post Oak, Hickory, Mesquite, Pecan are 100%.  Our Apple, Maple, Cherry, and Jack Daniels are 70/30 blend of Hardwood and fruit wood.  No industrial scrap, no added flavor oils. The base material for our pellets is sourced directly from our own wood chip and chunk factory.  There is no industrial scrap or flavor oils added to B&B pellets.

c

Are there any scrap wood or industrial waste in the process of making the wood pellets?

Category: Pellets

B&B makes over 8 flavors of wood pellets which are sourced exclusively from our wood chip and chunk products.  That ensures you get 100% authentic species-specific food grade wood pellets.  We never use industrial waste scraps or flavor oils.

c

Does B&B Charcoal offer Charcoal pellets?

Category: Pellets

We have partnered up with Jack Daniels to produce charcoal wood pellets.  The 100% oak is charred and is used to store Jack Daniels whiskey while it is mellowing.  When they are done with the process, we make the charred oak into pellets.  This gives your pellet smoker a natural taste of charcoal that is often missing from regular wood pellets alone.  But it also adds a little bit extra taste than regular charcoal alone.   Add Jack Daniels charcoal pellets to our other flavors of pellets to create that wonderful smoky flavor that is associated with cooking over an open fire.  You can buy Jack Daniels charcoal wood pellets at Academy Sports or Ace Hardware.

What are the advantages of using cooking wood pellets?

Category: Pellets

B&B pellet wood is sourced directly from our own wood chip and chunk production. The hardwoods are 100% species specific and the fruit wood are 70/30 mix of hardwood and species. We never use alder wood or industrial scrap, no flooring, no furniture waste wood, and no flavor oils. The result is pellets that burn hotter, longer with less ash and more authentic wood smoke flavor.

Pellets are a very versatile fuel and flavor source that has been growing in popularity in the outdoor cooking world. The use of wood pellets, whether by themselves or in combination with another fuel source, does have some great advantages. Some of these include:

1. Very clean burning since it contains no bark or scrap wood

2. They produce less than 1% of ash, making for easier cleanup

3. Low moisture

4. High BTU

5. Much lower carbon dioxide production

6. More energy efficient compared to other fuel sources

7. Costs less per energy unit than most other types of fuel

8. Easier to maintain consistent temperatures

c

What are wood pellets good for?

Category: Pellets

Pellets are good for burning heat and a slow and steady pace. The pellets will create little dust and debris but non compared to the amount of ash that a traditional firewood that has bark creates. Pellets are overall a cleaner and a more convenient way to heat.

c

Where do you store pellets?

Category: Pellets

Wood pellets can be conveniently stored for up to one year. The storage space all depends on the amount of wood pellets that are needed.
